Jen McElroy, Chef

For Chef Jen McElroy the path into cooking professionally was a sinuous one wending its way from Dallas, Texas, Long Beach, California and ultimately Eugene, Oregon.  She got her penchant for culinaria being raised by German grandparents who taught her how to scramble eggs standing on a milk crate at five years old.  After high school Jen's maiden voyage landed her in Long Beach California, in the culinary program at Long Beach City College studying under French Chefs Romaine Bertein and John McLaughlin.  Upon graduating Jen worked at 555 Steakhouse, the R.M.S. Queen Mary and several other kitchens in Southern California before relocating to Eugene in 2003.  Her diverse bacground, foundation in French cooking, and culinary experience landed her the postion of Chef de Cuisine at Ratatouille in the Crescent Village area of Eugene.
